These ethically handcrafted baskets hail from both Zambia and Zimbabwe, where xN Studio founder spent part of Summer 2022 for her upcoming book on African artisans and home decor (Spring 2024). Originally made to sort grains during harvest, these make the stunning decorative wall accents in any area of your home or office.

  • Made by independent women artisans in rural Zambia and Zimbabwe.
  • Each basket is one-of-a-kind.
  • Made 100% from organic materials: locally-sourced straw reeds and tree bark dye.
  • The Tonga and Binga tribes are made up of the same people who were displaced from their original homesteads during a dam development project in the 1970s. Some were relocated to neighboring Zimbabwe, while others went to another part of Zambia.
